For Domestic helpers who feel less than most employers, for those who are just to experience their first work abroad or for those who are simply no aware of the law, it's about time to memorize these rights that can only be helpful to anybody.

Part of living in a house to work is to have a good living space also. Once a domestic helper is hired to live and work for a family, he or she automatically becomes part of the household with respective rights therein. This includes having a good place to sleep in good sanitary condition, complete with amenities and accessories. They are not necessary expensive but decent enough and not should go below the usual room of the helper in her original residence. Also, the room automatically becomes private once the helper has settled in, it becomes her personal space of comfort and solace amidst work where domestic help is wanted.

The labor codes in most countries suggest a fair working time not to exceed 10 hours a day. As part of the rule any work done beyond that must be properly compensated and considered as an over time. Aside from that, break time should be allotted properly as well as one day full day off.
